Cervical cancer screening programme advisory group
Eight people representing health professional organisations who have knowledge and experience in the NCSP have been appointed to the National Cervical Cancer Screening Programme advisory group.This group had its first meeting late last year and its is charged with oversight of the continual improvement in the quality of service and safeguarding standards of care within the programme.
That includes providing independent advise on programme direction, consulting widely within their constituent groups and discussing research and development opportunities for the NCSP.
Current members are:

Dr Gary Fentiman, College of Gynaecologists representative
Dr. Martin Whitehead, College of Pathologists representative
Dr. Felicity Goodyear Smith, Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners representative
Dianne Newland, College of Practice Nurses representative.
Maori, Pacific and consumer group representatives are still to be appointed.
