Breastfeeding Support Otago & Southland

The Breastfeeding SOS website was created by WellSouth Primary Heath Network to help link women with a local Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. They’ve all had different breastfeeding experiences so we hope you can find someone to suit you.

If you are expecting a baby (or already are breastfeeding a baby of any age), the Breastfeeding Peer Supporters are here to help! We know that mothers have better breastfeeding experiences when they have good support.

The Breastfeeding Peer Supporters (also called Peer Counsellors) are volunteers trained to provide non-judgmental breastfeeding support and information on the normal course of breastfeeding, overcoming common barriers and breastfeeding challenges. They are available for one-to-one support, phone, text or email help, informal group drop-in sessions and home visits.

The Breastfeeding Peer Supporters are passionate and committed to working alongside mums, babies and whānau in a non-judgmental and supportive way.
