MATES in Construction have launched the 2025 Industry Well-being Survey, supported by ASB.
They’re calling for your voice to inform how we support our workforce and drive industry-wide and government-level change.

Mental health in the construction industry affects not just workers and our tāne, but also their whānau, partners, and wider communities. Wāhine working in the sector often face challenges that go unheard.

Each experience is unique. The more voices included, the better placed we are to advocate for meaningful change that improves well-being for everyone in construction.

What’s in the survey?
This year’s survey includes questions about your mental health and well-being, stressors at work and home, and what you believe would make a difference to the well-being of workers.

The confidential survey is available in English, Simplified Chinese, Hindi, Samoan, Tagalog, te reo Māori, and Tongan.
All participants can choose to enter the draw to win a $200 supermarket voucher (three to be won) or a $100 Prezzy card (four to be won).

This student-led project builds on the 2017 In Our Own Words report, which highlighted the widespread nature of sexual violence across tertiary campuses in Aotearoa. This survey is being relaunched to once again centre survivor voices, demand institutional accountability, and push for meaningful change.

The anonymous survey is open to all current and former students of tertiary institutions across Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) and will be open until 1 June. It invites participants to share their experiences of sexual harm in tertiary spaces. These stories will shape a new report to be released during Suffrage Week in September.
